scorching hot take from tip of my writer’s hat: late night is the best time to write.

i think i said this once but i’ll say it again because it’s true, at least from my many years of experience with pen and paper. i don’t know what’s causing this. it couldn’t be insomnia. maybe it’s just how my body clock works at this age.

so my writing mood (and motivation) ebbs and flows.

you’d think i’d be motivated to publish this with only thirty minutes away from friday? on a normal day, it’s 70% no. but tonight is different.

what if i told you i’m fueled by inspiration right at this very moment?

earlier on i was just reading this brilliant piece on better marketing. for what it’s worth, i found this deep in my inbox cluttered with volunteering correspondences, zalora offers, and weekly medium digests.

so about medium. last week’s edition featured an incredible piece on the template that’ll allow anyone to publish an article a day. after what has been a busy few weeks at work, this was the read i needed to rejuvenate.

key takeaways that will always stick with me:

  • treat writing as a conversation. every article (or any form that screams words and print) always begins with an icebreaker, something that want to talk about with someone.
  • remember my writing advice? this bears repeating: write what you are passionate about and not because it’s trendy. your point of view that is easy to understand is what people want to read about.
  • anything you write about, ensure your sources support your arguments. not contradict them.
  • people love an easy read. straight-up fact right there.
  • a great opening line is constituted by something that pique your reader’s curiosity. in other words, you leave them wanting to know more.
  • your article is basically like your average high school essay. fin.

okay time for bed.
