Tell me more about yourself.

My name is Candice Shayne, owner of this blog. I am a 20-something Supergirl with a laptop and not a cape. An aficionado for pucks, reels, reads, lipsticks, and mocha (the DRINK, not the entertainer.)

I used to own my original blog The Candydoll Files from 2008 to 2018. Another previous alias of mine was Candice Wrote This.

Meanwhile, I celebrate my birthday on January 20. MNL girl by birth.

Working Life / Career

After eleven years at St. Theresa’s College QC, I studied AB Communication Arts at De La Salle University – Manila. From then on, I knew I wanted to work in communications.

Although I wanted to be a magazine writer growing up, things changed when I got my first job in marketing and communications. That’s when I discovered my love for digital marketing.

In 2017, I took a year-long break from the 9-to-5 life to complete my Master of Business Administration program at the University of Newcastle, Australia (UON Singapore) following two amazing years as a community manager at a Philippine marketing communications agency.

While in Singapore, I worked in the insurance sector for 2.5 years. At present, I work as a digital media manager for another Philippine marketing communications agency. I am also a remote volunteer for the Jane Goodall Institute (Singapore) social media team and the Our Lady of Perpetual Succour (OLPS) communications team.

Hobbies

Writing is my lifelong passion. So are books, food, and fashion are my other guilty pleasures. Besides that, I enjoy watching hockey, basketball, and pro-wrestling because they are fun (sometimes.)
